We’re moving to a condo really close to the chapel and it’s about 50 steps away! Its only a one bedroom (and we were hoping for at least 2), but this is good for now. We decided to just take this condo instead of the other apartments we’ve seen that had two bedrooms because of the fact that it’s across from the chapel and there’s ample parking!  If there’s one thing I learned about living in apartments/condo areas, it is this: (1) MUST HAVE A DESIGNATED PARKING SPACE and (2) MUST HAVE AMPLE STREET PARKING! :D  The other places either had one or the other, but not both.

Looking forward to buying furniture and making the place feel like home :D and since blog posts are better with photos, here’s a picture of me and Ryan in Seattle this past January.  It was taken by our friend and brother from another mother, Chris Alignay :D! He’s one of my favorite photographers!  Thank you so much Chris for taking this picture of us! Whenever I see it, it’ll remind me of how much I want to learn how to be an efficient Canon photographer (I still can’t figure out how to change the aperture/shutter speed/ISO on a Canon…)

January: Ryan and I celebrated our 8th Year Anniversary! We did a staycation and it was a really great way for us to relax and enjoy our anniversary.

February: My lola passed away this month. :(

March: I celebrated my 33rd birthday. We also witnessed and help document the chapel dedication in Los Angeles, officiated by our Executive Minister.

April: Ryan turned 34 this year in April! We dined at the At Last Cafe and the Macaroni dish was to-die-for!  We also witnessed and documented the chapel dedication in Sacramento, officiated again by our Executive Minister.  What an experience this trip was for us. This month, my lolo passed away. :(

May: Multiple things happened this month but what stood out most was the INC Giving, Teacher Appreciation activity we had.

June: ES-Sense turned 6 this year! I also got a new job with Jones Lang LaSalle.

July: We celebrated the 97th anniversary of the Iglesia Ni Cristo this month.

August: I finally got to take my family’s photos and we realized it’s our 30th Anniversary as residents in the USA.

September: It was the first time Ryan and I ever attended a pinning ceremony for Chief Petty Officers. That was really cool!

October: Janice and Benson got a family dog. :)

November: The biggest thing that happened this month was the INC Giving Winter Wear Drive. I’m still in awe when I think about it!

December: Being able to document memorable events for the INC.

I pretty much grew up with Aldrin and it’s always nice when my friends asks me to document their important events in their lives.  When we started the session, Aldrin says to me, “Wierd huh, Joan?”. I asked him why did he think it was weird for me to be taking their photos and he said, “Cause I’m grown up now.”  HEHE :)  Well, I didn’t expect that answer because I thought he was weirded out because I was going to see him kiss Meghan and stuff HEHE!! It’s always starts off that way when I photograph my childhood friends… BUT I have to agree… a little bit… that Aldrin is all grown up now. What a lucky guy to be able to find Meghan as his better half !

Aldrin and Meghan: I’m really happy and excited for the both of you! By looking at these photos, it looks like you both still haven’t really “grown up” because of silliness of some of the photos, but who wants to grow up anyway :) Stay the way you are right now in these photos; Happy, Silly, and in LOVE :)

We don’t have any plans yet, but no matter where we will be and what we plan to do, I know its going to be a day to remember because we’ll be together. Time just seem to fly by nowadays and I realize that although we take photographs of people, we hardly take any photographs of one another.  So my new years resolution for this coming year is to photograph me and Ryan more often.  I don’t think I can do that 365 photos for 365 days project that other people do, but yes, for 2012 I’ll be taking more photos of me and my husband!!

My excuse for the past nine years for not being in photos is, “I belong behind the camera”.  Well, this year will be different because I plan to take more photos of us wherever and doing whatever! Then, when the next nine years of marriage comes along, we’ll have ton of photos and memories to reminisce on…

I also realize that Ryan and I never really had an “engagement session” done. I think it’s because we’re just not used to cameras being pointed at us.  Maybe after a year of practicing how to “be” in front of the camera, we’ll be able to get a photographer to take portraits of me and Ryan (which I know will be an interesting session) on our 10th year wedding anniversary!

I have to admit that after reviewing photographs that we take of our brides, grooms, family, and friends, I have this wish that one day, Ryan and I will have cool photos to share on this blog!  Until then, here’s a teaser for my friends Aldrin and Meghan! Here’s a photo taken during their engagement session a few weeks ago!  Argghhh… i’m so jealous how gorgeous they look!!!  ;-)

So when he asked me to take his family portraits, I wanted to crawl under a rock… I was really nervous.

Then I finally got to meet his family (his wife Aileen, and their two children, Brayden and Dominic) and I knew I was going to have a really good time. Still, I was nervous, but at least I knew I was going to have a lot of fun with photographing the family. Their kids are ADORABLE!! I miss them already!! Brayden even brought his own camera during the photo shoot to show me his photographic skills and with Dominic, well, once you get him to smile, your heart just melts!

Conrad and Aileen: Thank you again for your support! You two are on my list of favorite families and I hope we can all hang out again! P.S. Conrad, I’m still nervous about giving you the raw files, but hey, you’ve helped me so much in the past, it’s the least I can do… you’ll just have to photoshop out the wrinkles on your shirt and other unwanted blemishes you were asking me to remove hahaha :)

It’s been a crazy couple months for me, especially after changing jobs. I work full time for Jones Lang LaSalle and photography is just my part time thing… for now :).  However, I’m going to try my best to blog more for my memory’s sake :) I started this blog to help me remember important events and I need to keep at it! Thank you to those who continues to encourage me to do what I enjoy doing and for being so supportive!

I am currently finishing up Marissa and Mida’s wedding. Next, I’ll be working on two of my friends’ family sessions: The Hernandez Family and the Maranan Family! :)  This weekend, I’m praying for good weather, because I have another family shoot with the Maranan Family as well as an engagement shoot! It’s going to be a busy weekend, but that’s okay :) I’m thankful!

Tomorrow, my church (Iglesia Ni Cristo) in the local congregation of Long Beach will be holding a Winter Wear Clothing drive! It’s going to be so awesome and I am excited for this event! More on that later.

I think this post is long enough as it is… but before I sign off for the night, I just wanted to post up a teaser photo for my friend Yvonne! I miss her and even though we haven’t worked together for the past 6 years… she always keeps in touch with me! I love that about her! :)  Happy Thursday everyone! The weekend is almost upon us!!!

I hope you enjoy viewing these images as much as Ryan and I had enjoyed taking them.

Congratulations again Clint and Hershey!  I can’t believe it’s been over a month already! I know you two are having a wonderful time being married!! Here is to more years of blessings to you both!!
