Chicago Highlights: Nerf Wars

Ryan and I just came back from our trip to Chicago a few days ago and I’m barely getting through all the pictures. One of the highlights of our trip was getting to visit, meet and make new friends there. Below are some photos from our short visitation to the Serrano family home.  Lora and I have been messaging each other a few months before our trip and we had set up a short mini family session (more on that later). She also told me that if Ryan and I wanted, we were welcomed to stay and get to know some brethren from Chicago who would be at her house for a small get together to play a game they came up with called, “Nerf Wars”. I’m always excited to meet new people ESPECIALLY members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo :). I guess that’s one thing that I love about the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ). No matter what locale we come from, whether we are from another state, or even another country, we have that special link that bonds us together like one big happy family!!

Here are a few photos with my brothers and sisters from the locale of Chicago, IL!

I’ve know Joie for over 13 years now, but it was only that day that I finally got to meet him in person! HI JOIE!!

This is Chance. He is one incredible kid! More on his story later :)

This is Ched. I’ve known him for over 13 years too! The first time I met him and his brother Chris was in 1996 or 1997 when they came over to California for an mIRC #iglesia gathering. Those were the days!

Ched and Joie – Practicing for the Nerf War games.

The object of the game is for one team to rip off the bottom half of the papers taped and hanging on to the arch way of Lora’s house.

Picking teams.

Rules and Regulations.

Group shot!

This may look really fun, but the teams were serious about winning the games.

After the games.

Another group shot! THANK YOU EVERYONE for welcoming me and Ryan!! We really had a great time and we’re so glad to finally meet you all! We can’t wait to hang out again one of these days! You are all so fun and awesome!!!
