My name is Joan Solitario and I'm a photographer :)

I did not find photography and photography did not find me. Instead, I believe it was a gift from God. He gave me the opportunity to learn photography so that I can help people capture their memories. Most of all, I can use this gift for His glory.

Photography has given me the opportunity to meet and get to know so many wonderful people! It has also given me the opportunity to photograph events that has helped in strengthening my faith. These events have also given me inspiration and memories that will truly last a lifetime! Hopefully, I can inspire someone by sharing these memories through my posts.

I believe that everything that has happened in my life; everything that I have experienced; and every single person that I have met in my life were all part of God's plan for me. So, unto Him, I return all praise, honor, and glory.

It’s a nice feeling when someone offers to help you whether you ask for it or not. Just the simple gestures of kindness (such as a person opening the door for you or someone helping you pick up the load of papers you just knocked off your desk (True story! It happenned to me a today!)) goes a very long way!

In celebration of my new blog design (Yes, I’m STILL celebrating!) I want to help someone win a Shootsac. (Special thanks to Jessica Claire for giving me the go signal to give one away)! I kept thinking about HOW I was going to give it away and then it hit me! I want to see how people can help their friends win a Shootsac! So here are the rules.

1. You must be a fan of es-sense. I could open it up to non-es-sense fans, BUT I wont. I need to take care of those who support me first. To be a fan, join by visiting this website: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Long-Beach-CA/es-sense/120695114014 and clicking “Be A Fan”

2. Comment on this blog by answering the following question: Why do you want to win this Shootsac?

3. On the es-sense facebook fan page , put a fun, creative, non-derogatory picture of you with a sign saying, “I want to win the Shootsac!”

THIS IS WHERE YOUR FRIENDS ARE GOING TO HELP YOU OUT!
4. Have your friends comment on your picture!

5. The photo on our es-sense facebook fan page with the most COMMENTS and does all the above requirements wins the Shootsac. Each of your friends can add as many comments BUT only ONE comment per friend will be counted. CLICKING THE “LIKE” BUTTON WILL NOT BE COUNTED. They need to comment on your photo.

6. Again, you must do all the steps above to be qualified to win the prize. Any missing requirement will disqualify you.

7. Deadline for comments for your photo is Sunday, March 28, 2010 at 11:59 PM PST on my watch. The WINNER will be announced on Wednesday, March 31st. That way I’ll have time to count all the votes on your photos!

Since photos makes a blog post more pretty and interesting, here’s a picture I took after work last Friday. I went to the Upper Newport Bay and took some nature shots just because :o).

First off…CONGRATULATIONS on your new website! It’s really visitor friendly and looks very…AMAZINGLY AWESOME!

Okay, about the shootsac, I would really put it to good use. The two of you have inspired me to purchase a DSLR and you STRONGLY advised me to get a Nikon. That’s what I did! I’m still in the process of learning how to use it..shutter speed, appertures, etc. The reason why we got a Nikon DSLR? Well, because we can’t take you and Ryan with us on our family vacation on our Bahamas Cruise! We’re going next month during Phil’s Rest&Recuperation for 2 weeks. Yes, it’s been 6 months since Phil left for deployment in Afghanistan and the boys and I are very excited to see our daddy! Phil wanted this vacation for us so I did whatever I could to make it happen and it’s happening! He also asked me to purchase a DSLR for this vacay and to document the boys’ growing up…and that’s what I did. I’d do anything to make my husband happy and to make all his sacrifices worth it!

So with this said, I think our family would definitely make good use of the shootsac!

You have a very generous heart, the two of you. You’re periodically giving away gifts. My mom has always taught me the importance of generosity because in return God will give shower you with many blessings and I know for a fact that your life is truly blessed by God!

Katie Kendrick - I want to win the Shootsac because I am SO not satisfied with the two small, poorly designed camera & lens bags that I have. They are fine for storing my gear, but I long for something as dynamic as this wonderful Shootsac to make the active job of shooting in the “real world” much easier and intuitive. Plus, they are super cute, and what girl doesn’t want a new, cute AND functional accessory?!
