Lead by Sis Tina, the choir from Group 4 planned a get together for my cousin, ate Virma this morning. Over 20 of us enjoyed a buffet brunch at the El Torito on Atlantic Avenue wishing my cousin a safe trip to the Philippines and best wishes for her upcoming wedding sometime early next year 2009. The actual date of the wedding has not yet been set, but as soon as it is, I reminded her…begged her… to let me know as soon as possible! I’m praying really hard that Ryan and I can attend… even if it means just being there for a couple of days because seeing her getting married would be worth it.
Like a lot of my cousins, ate Virma is just sweet. She’s always thinking about others and because I never had an older sister, she was someone I considered an older sister to me from the time we were still kids and until now… She was one of those who I can tell secrets to and know that it will be kept safe… Thinking about our childhood days when we would have sleep overs and we would talk just about E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G — it’s kind of hard to believe sometimes we’re all grown up… I’m going to miss my ate Virma! :(.
Ate Virma: If you think no one is going to miss you, or you won’t even be missed… think again, because we will! Especially “the cousins”.
After our photoshoot this afternoon with our friend, Sheila W (the debutante), Ryan and I picked up ate Virma. We rented a movie (You Don’t Mess With The Zohan) at Blockbuster, bought spaghetti ingredients at Ralphs and headed to my house to enjoy each others company. It was definitely nice to spend time with my cousin. Here are a two photos from this mornings brunch at El Torito.
