When Ryan and I were covering Sheila’s 18th birthday party last week, there was a moment when I couldn’t find Ryan around the hotel and so I started looking around for him. I thought he was running around taking pictures of the reception hall details… but I was wrong…

I wanted to hit myself on the forehead really hard and get a permanent black marker and write “DUH” right in the center of my forehead because guess where I found Ryan…

No – not in the bathroom…

No – not eating in the restaurant…

No – not in the car getting photography gears we might have missed…

Ryan was in the lobby playing the piano.

If you guessed this answer… don’t let me know that cause I’ll feel REALLY BAD =P D-U-H!!!!

So I’ve titled this picture: IGNORED because Ryan left his camera on the piano and it looked ignored… because of Ryan’s first “hobby” love (I guess you can call it that).. which is music…

Lesson Learned: Where there’s a piano, there’s Ryan. DUH!

Bryan Cervantes, a friend of mine, had emailed me about Movember. Movember (the month formerly known as November) is a moustache growing charity event held during November each year that raises funds and awareness for men’s health and prostate cancer research. I’m not into moustaches, but I’m a softy when it comes to cancer research charities especially the ones my friends are involved in, so today I’d like to blog about it (hoping that others can also help out).

Here’s what you can do and it’s easy as 1-2-3. Visit www.movember.com/ca/donate. From there, you can donate under his name ‘Bryan Cervantes’.

Taadaa!! ;) I told you it was easy!

Bryan: I hope this helps and goodluck!!

Starr was one of Lauralee’s bridesmaid. She contacted me a couple of weeks ago because she wanted me to take some photos of her family and most of all her two adorable kids!  I met them early Saturday morning of last week. Her kids are awesome! Especially since they woke up early on Saturday spending the morning with a photographer instead of watching Saturday morning cartoons! Here are some of my favorites.

the quietness from my blog…

It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to post something, but believe me, I’ve been C-R-A-Z-Y B-U-S-Y! I haven’t been sleeping much. The earliest I’ve been sleeping this week is probably 1am waking and up at 5am or if I’m lucky 6am… but the good thing is, we’re getting things done.

I wish there was a way for me to do things productive while I’m sleeping for photography… like edit photos or making album layouts! That would be cool! :)

Tonight is Sheila’s 18th Birthday party and Ryan and I will be photographing the event. Johnson and Gerard will be in charge of video, so I hope to post something from the party by this coming week! I have a couple of slideshows coming up from last weekend so stay tuned.

Have a good Friday and a blessed weekend!

I got a message today that I got tagged by Michelle! So I guess it’s my turn now to do some tagging! Here are the rules:

Rules

* Link to the person who tagged me
* Mention the rules
* Reveal seven quirky and/or weird facts about yourself
* Tag seven other bloggers by linking to them
* Go to each of their blogs and leave a message letting them know they’ve been tagged! (I have so much to do today I want to scream! Err I’ll probably do this rule later then)

1 I have a pillow and blanket in my car.
2 I have 3 boxes of tea varieties at work but haven’t used them.
3 I try to avoid having to shop at any malls (it gives me a headache)
4 I like to stock up on things I don’t really need, just in case I need it one day
5 I hate alarm clocks but I’m thankful for them
6 My favorite form of exercise is walking
7 I wanted to be an astronaut when I was a kid

Here are the 7 photographer sites (besides Michelle’s) that i visit daily for inspiration:

Also here are teasers from some projects I’m working on this week:

Ever have days when you just want to drop everything you’re doing because you have so much to do and don’t really know where to start?

That’s how I’ve been feeling lately… I’ve been having some really crazy dreams about not being able to finish projects or missing appointments or losing important things… In fact, I had one last night that I couldn’t find my flip flops! I know what you’re thinking.. FLIP FLOP!?  YES, FLIP FLOPS! =P

So I woke up pretty early this morning and started folding laundry… I folded 2 baskets full of clothes in about 15 minutes. That’s a record for me because I usually take my time folding clothes… I guess I was really determined to get something done before going to work today because when I get home today, I just want to focus on finishing up some photography work by Wednesday evening and use the rest of the week to focus on our Grand Evangelical Mission on Jan 2, 2009 event.

So today, I’ll be working on my calendar during lunch time, trying to find time for everything that needs to be done on my checklist. Hopefully by the end of the day, I’ll have a better sense of managing my schedule for the last few weeks of this year…

To symbolize how serious I am about managing my days, here’s a picture taken of my sister Janice, my brother Jordan, and my ever so wonderful Ryan at the Griffith Observatory looking at the ever swaying Foucault Pendulum.

Just wanted to post a simple blog up today about a new service Ryan and I signed up for called twitter. What is Twitter exactly? Here’s the answer from their website:

Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?

At first I was skeptical with the service it provides, but for those who have signed up and are actually using Twitter, it’s really interesting and it’s fun knowing what my friends are up to.
Twitter is really a great way of keeping in touch. For example, if there was something I saw (like a beautiful sunset) and I wanted to share it with you, I would just text it to twitter and it will automatically update all those who signed up to follow me. Twitter also gives you the option to send photos too and it’s really simple to use.

Usually I would bother Ryan at work and ask him what he’s doing, but he’s been pretty good at updating twitter that I no longer have to ask him, “when are you leaving for lunch” or “what time are you picking me up from work?”. I’ve set up my account so that I can get Ryan’s updates on my cell phone (which I can turn on and off).

If you want to find an easy way of getting in touch with people or if you just want to know what your friends/family are up to… I suggest this service. Especially if you have unlimited texting service — might as well use it right!?

Okie dokie, that’s my two cents for today. Have a happy Friday everyone! ;-D

…my family, my friends, and my cousins.  I love the fact that we can have so much fun with each other and that doesn’t mean we have to go out and spend $$. Especially nowadays with the economy seeming to be so unstable… it’s nice to just be around each other and doing spontaneously weird things together. We can be ourselves – not having to worry about what people think – we can be our retarded/crazy/weird/loud selves…

We have fun playing group games like MAFIA, Cranium, Mao, and on Sunday, I was introduced to board game called Dabble! At first it didn’t sound too exciting to me… but when they started playing the game, it was not only fun, but very educational!

I don’t know why, but for some reason I feel as if I haven’t seen them in such a long time. Maybe it’s because we’ve been so busy lately and we haven’t really hung out… but next year I think we’ll be planning another camping trip… other than Mammoth. Maybe a trip somewhere in Arizona or maybe San Francisco area? Not sure yet… still a plan… but we really need to hang out more often just because… that way I have a reason to use my camera too and take silly pictures like the one I took of Geralyn, Jodick, and Joy below I’ve entitled, “What Are You Looking At!?”.

I really enjoy their company… my family, cousins, and friends.. They are definitely my favorite models and best supporters! Thank you all for your trust and faith!

…Ryan gives me “the look” again.. but this time it’s the “you-chose-the-wrong-line-again” look.  Yes, I know… Ryan has a lot of “looks”… and believe you me, I know every single one of them. Serious.

This evening after getting grocery to cook our lunch for the whole week (yes the whole week – another topic to blog about later), Ryan and I approached the cashier lines. Looking at the ones available, I did a mental debate as to which line looked the fastest and which one would help us get out of the store, into our cars right away.

One line had the 10 items or less but there were about 5 people in line. Another line had 2 people, but there were still so much food in the cart of the last person it would have taken longer for us to get our grocery off our carts. Another also had 2, but looking at the cart, the couple didn’t have much food to remove from the cart… so I decided to go to that line instead…

Lo and behold! We got stuck in line for about 15 minutes while the cashier was helping the couple solve a problem with their payment options for their grocery…

So there we were… standing and waiting… watching people from the other lines leaving the store…

From now on, I’ll have Ryan decide on which lines we should go to…
